Accessibility Statement

Built so everyone can use it.

We serve adults 65 and over, including people living with changes in memory, sight, hearing or movement. A website that shuts anyone out would work against our mission, so we design and test this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AAA, the highest level of the standard.

Last updated October 2026

The Short Version

  • Large, clear text you can make larger.
  • Strong contrast, with a High contrast setting.
  • Nothing moves on its own, and nothing times out.
  • Everything works with a keyboard, a screen reader or voice control.
  • If something is hard to use, tell us and we will fix it.

What We Do

  • Large, clear text. Body text is at least 18 pixels, with generous line spacing. Use the A, A+ and A++ buttons at the top of every page to make it larger.
  • Strong contrast. Text and buttons meet a contrast ratio of at least 7 to 1. The High contrast button at the top of every page makes colors stronger and turns off background drawings.
  • Nothing moves on its own. There are no slideshows, auto-playing videos or animations. Nothing changes unless you press a button.
  • No time limits. Take as long as you need to read a page or fill in a form.
  • Easy to use with a keyboard. Every link, button and form works with a keyboard alone, and a clear yellow outline shows where you are.
  • Large buttons. Every button and link is at least 44 by 44 pixels, so it is easy to press.
  • Works with assistive technology. Clear headings and labels help screen readers and voice control find everything. Every meaningful image has a text description, and decorative drawings are hidden from screen readers.
  • Plain language. We write in short, clear sentences and explain medical and scientific terms where they appear.
  • Help in the same place. Our email address is at the top of every page.
  • No puzzles to prove you are human. Our contact form never asks you to solve a picture or word puzzle.

What We Are Still Working On

We test the site with automated tools and by hand, and we will test it with older adults as our program grows. If we find something that falls short, we fix it and update this page.
